About the role
The role of the Credit Officer is to ensure that all outstanding accounts, reconciliations, adjustments and refunds are processed / collected in a timely and effective manner. In this role you will possess strong written and verbal communication skills, and a strong customer service/support focus. You will have a keen attention to detail and a commitment to streamlining processes while reporting into the Credit Manager. The Credit Officer will have varied responsibilities including;
Manage a portfolio of overdue accounts.
Collecting outstanding debt via phone calls, emails.
Negotiating payment terms.
Monitoring arrangements and finalising accounts.
Liaise with facilities personnel regarding unpaid disputed resident accounts.
Provide bi- monthly aged debtor reports to Credit Manager with explanations of overdue unpaid debt.
Adaptable, focused and efficient, escalates issues where necessary in a timely manner.
Ability to deal with internal stakeholders and provide solutions to resolve delinquent accounts.
Contacting and updating resident information for all DERP’s.
Processing customer refunds.
Assist the billing team at End of Month by handling call volumes.
Ad-hoc responsibilities as directed by the Credit Manager.
The traits that will help you succeed
3+ years’ experience in a Credit function
Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
Experience with Microsoft Excel.
Experience working in a fast-paced complex environment.
Clear ability to escalate decisively, clearly and with confidence.
Excellent customer service.
