About the role
The Regional Planning and Rostering Specialist is responsible for optimising and publishing rosters for Estia Health homes within a specific region.
This role ensures efficient staff deployment by analysing and designing rostering strategies that align with organisational goals and comply with business rules, safety protocols, and relevant legislation.
The role will also focus on the creation of demand forecasts to develop capacity plans for the region, producing optimised rosters up to 12 months in advance while adhering to Estia Health policies and operational agreements.
The responsibilities we will trust you with:
Develop and implement strategic rostering plans that align with organizational goals, ensuring optimal staffing levels and efficient use of resources for your designated region.
Analyse historical data and forecast future staffing needs based on demand patterns, trends, and business requirements to ensure accurate and timely staffing.
Continuously review and optimise rostering processes to improve operational efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance staff satisfaction within designated region.
Timely publication of rosters in accordance with relevant awards and to the agreed-upon quality standards with business stakeholders
Conduct regular roster reviews and optimisation to ensure an effective alignment of staff with demand requirements
Review and manage leave requests within specified timeframes and report of leave offered at roster publish to relevant manager
Track and analyse key performance indicators (KPIs) related to rostering and staffing, making data-driven decisions to improve performance and achieve business objectives.
Provide training and support to relevant staff on rostering systems and processes, ensuring they understand their roles and responsibilities.
Utilise rostering software and other tools effectively to manage schedules, track performance, and ensure the accuracy of data.
Engage with key stakeholders and provide regular formal and informal updates on the progress of activities managed by the resourcing team to enhance business outcomes
Contribute to the development of appropriate documentation of the team’s resource planning processes to ensure a consistent and high-quality delivery of rosters
Prepare and present reports on staffing metrics, roster compliance, and optimisation efforts to senior management, providing insights and recommendations for improvements.
Continuously enhance personal skills in resource planning and customer service to exceed KPIs and effectively meet customer needs.
The person who will be amazing in this role:
A degree in a related field such as Business Administration, Human Resources, Data Science, or Operations Management is desirable.
Certifications in project management, data analysis, or specific rostering software could be advantageous.
Experience in understanding of rostering and resource planning processes, theories, and methodologies
Advanced Computer skills including Microsoft Office skills (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
Experience in applying Industrial, regulatory rules or enterprise agreements within a business
A high level of prioritisation, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills
Ability to ‘think outside the box’ and to work within multiple/conflicting time constraints
Ability to analyse complex data sets and identify trends and patterns.
Capacity to align rostering strategies with organisational goals and objectives.
Demonstrated experience in analysing data to inform decision-making processes.
Practical experience with rostering or workforce management software.
Strong verbal and written communication skills for interacting with various stakeholders.
Proven ability of using data to drive decisions, communicate effectively, and manage both the technical and strategic aspects of workforce scheduling.
